I’m nervous…
I’m about to be so transparent it’s scary ….I’m an oddball, excited about the hard work of pursuing excellence in every area and that intimidates those with low self-esteem. Hey, the only thing I can do with that is work harder at my own vision. After all, what’s important to them may not in fact be important to you/me. Last week I planned an event that made it onto the local channel 11 news, the Mayor and several city big wigs were in attendance, in part because of my efforts. I didn’t think much of the “orchestration of things” but as I sat back and watched the day unfold; I realized just how different I am. Yes, it’s great to enlarge your network, great to be good at what you do and known by those who matter but the focus of the event was an amazing story and at the end of the day it was that story that mattered the most to me not “hob-nobbing” with the powers that be (albeit that was nice to do).
When the Mayor arrived I noticed how some people reacted to successful people who have it on the ball. Lesson, not everyone’s a fan of your greatness. So does that mean you should accept ordinary or shrink to make others feel larger? Nah. I also noticed how she handled herself with great aplomb and “stuck to the script” despite the naysayers and unbelievers. What a lesson! I’m grateful that my ego doesn’t get in the way of my own evolution and that I can receive these universal lessons/pearls whenever they come. Thanks Mrs. Mayor!
I am different as you might be, because I commit to being better and although intimidation has never been my goal, if you are then you are and that’s your choice and maybe you should step your work ethic up. On the flip side, when I’m able to upgrade someone’s existence or be a source of temporary motivation for them which this week I have been, I feel alive! That’s the best gift you can give another human being – a preview into an alternate reality. I know I’ve received that gift from those in my circle, my team is amazing; I mean I am really blessed to be surrounded with strong ladies with character, godly men, CEOs, muses, enlightened eccentrics and down home good folk from here to Japan!
Well, enough about me, what about you, are you ready for a change? You’ll know your moment has arrived when what used to do it just doesn’t and when you find yourself taking more and more self-accountability for the condition of your existence. Your lack luster life is no one else‘s fault …it’s not them, it’s you! So, make a different choice. TODAY! Personally, I’m so tired of ordinary, common living that I just don’t see another way to live daily than to expect what I know is out there- abundance and to pursue it with vigor.
I was at a meeting recently with some other business owners and I was so inspired by their ideas, thoughts and individual journeys that I realized our atmosphere really does determine the reality that we see and what we believe is possible. Ironically, we create said atmosphere so why aren’t we all living the exactly lives we want? I think it’s simple, we’re lazy and want to fit in and be normal more than we want to be authentic or great. The irony is, we admire people who are authentic but count ourselves out of the game and think that somehow we’re different and don’t possess whatever they do when the only difference between them and us is their daily choices and the fact that they know what they deserve and don’t settle for less.
Hard work TODAY and sacrifice are the secrets, to crafting a better life. Accepting the goodness that is present in your life while creating more should be our sole daily goal but leaving the familiar is often like traveling alone to a distant land with no funds. SCARY and possibly deterimetnal to your current perception of your health! You’ve got to choose to love your life, take a risk and create the excitement that you require, that’s YOUR JOB..no one else’s! With that being said in 2012 I’ve challenged myself to meet certain fiscal and fitness goals and to enjoy the process. What challenge have you decided to issue to ignite your own personal revolution? Meeting and hopefully exceeding my challenge is going to require stepping outside of my comfort zone and making sacrifices, enlarging the dream and really connecting with what excites me about my passion in order to power though the hard work that manifestation requires. It also requires an insane focus on what’s important and what’s not.
Here are my Fab five to the finish line:
1. Taking action not concocting excuses
2. Choosing Abundance
3. Accepting your path and walking it
4. Fearlessly letting go of EVERYTHING that does not serve you.
5. Remembering that you are never alone, you’ve got a tribe. Find ‘em!
