Yeah…..I said it….

Yeah…..I said it….

I’m nervous…

I’m about to be so transparent it’s scary ….I’m an oddball, excited about the hard work of pursuing excellence in every area and that intimidates those with low self-esteem. Hey, the only thing I can do with that is work harder at my own vision. After all, what’s important to them may not in fact be important to you/me. Last week I planned an event that made it onto the local channel 11 news, the Mayor and several city big wigs were in attendance, in part because of my efforts. I didn’t think much of the “orchestration of things”  but as I sat back and watched the day unfold; I realized just how different I am. Yes, it’s great to enlarge your network, great to be good at what you do and known by those who matter but the focus of the event was an amazing story and at the end of the day it was that story that mattered the most to me not “hob-nobbing” with the powers that be (albeit that was nice to do).

When the Mayor arrived I noticed how some people reacted to successful people who have it on the ball. Lesson, not everyone’s a fan of your greatness. So does that mean you should accept ordinary or shrink to make others feel larger? Nah. I also noticed how she handled herself with great aplomb and “stuck to the script” despite the naysayers and unbelievers. What a lesson! I’m grateful that my ego doesn’t get in the way of my own evolution and that I can receive these universal lessons/pearls whenever they come. Thanks Mrs. Mayor!

I am different as you might be, because I commit to being better and although intimidation has never been my goal, if you are then you are and that’s your choice and maybe you should step your work ethic up. On the flip side, when I’m able to upgrade someone’s existence or be a source of temporary motivation for them which this week I have been, I feel alive! That’s the best gift you can give another human being – a preview into an alternate reality. I know I’ve received that gift from those in my circle, my team is amazing; I mean I am really blessed to be surrounded with strong ladies with character, godly men, CEOs, muses, enlightened eccentrics and down home good folk from here to Japan!

Well, enough about me, what about you, are you ready for a change? You’ll know your moment has arrived when what used to do it just doesn’t and when you find yourself taking more and more self-accountability for the condition of your existence. Your lack luster life is no one else‘s fault …it’s not them, it’s you! So, make a different choice. TODAY! Personally, I’m so tired of ordinary, common living that I just don’t see another way to live daily than to expect what I know is out there- abundance and to pursue it with vigor.

I was at a meeting recently with some other business owners and I was so inspired by their ideas, thoughts and individual journeys that I realized our atmosphere really does determine the reality that we see and what we believe is possible. Ironically, we create said atmosphere so why aren’t we all living the exactly lives we want? I think it’s simple, we’re lazy and want to fit in and be normal more than we want to be authentic or great. The irony is, we admire people who are authentic but count ourselves out of the game and think that somehow we’re different and don’t possess whatever they do when the only difference between them and us is their daily choices and the fact that they know what they deserve and don’t settle for less.

Hard work TODAY and sacrifice are the secrets, to crafting a better life. Accepting the goodness that is present in your life while creating more should be our sole daily goal but leaving the familiar is often like traveling alone to a distant land with no funds. SCARY and possibly deterimetnal to your current perception of your health! You’ve got to choose to love your life, take a risk and create the excitement that you require, that’s YOUR JOB..no one else’s! With that being said  in 2012 I’ve challenged myself to meet certain fiscal and fitness goals and to enjoy the process. What challenge have you decided to issue to ignite your own personal revolution? Meeting and hopefully exceeding my challenge is going to  require stepping outside of my comfort zone and making sacrifices, enlarging the dream and really connecting with what excites me about my passion in order to power though the hard work that manifestation requires. It also requires an insane focus on what’s important and what’s not.

Here are my Fab five to the finish line:

1. Taking action not concocting excuses

2. Choosing Abundance

3. Accepting your path and walking it

4. Fearlessly letting go of EVERYTHING that does not serve you.

5. Remembering that you are never alone, you’ve got a tribe. Find ‘em!

savoir-vivre   (ˈsævwɑːˈviːvrə)
—   n
French,   literally: a knowing how to live

Have you ever met a woman that simply stands out from the rest and has her own rhythm? She’s often described as different or eccentric by those trying to box her in; or maybe you are that woman! Well, I have the pleasure of knowing a few ladies of that caliber and was recently informed that they wouldn’t consider me a close friend it I didn’t possess that same trait. Who knew?  So, I needed to get with it. “Why do you think I always have you over when I’m planning my wardrobe,” one friend said or “why do you think I drag you furniture shopping with me in NY” another said. I always assumed that was the bond of sisterhood in action, it turns out I was selling myself short. How often do we do that? No more! One thing I love about being a “glamazon” in training is the adventure that life is, the novelty of discovering a new place, activity, trip, budget beauty eco collection that screams super model results and sharing it with my circle! I love witnessing the joy of a woman  as she discovers that she too possess beauty, style and can cultivate that in her atmosphere- I guess that’s one of the reasons I opened Suite Ta Bu.

My gig is best coined as a “life”stylist and to some that may be a new term but it’s what I love to do. Imagine that, the working woman can actually afford a partner that helps her with not only her personal branding but her style of living. Want a trip to Thailand? There are affordable ways to travel that won’t cost a mortgage payment but who has time to research that? Want to learn how to use mineral makeup and what your color palette each season should be? Need to upgrade your fitness wardrobe and want to support indie designers but don’t know who they are? I do. Need to figure out a way to maximize you budget and upgrade your wardrobe? Need a partner to re-imagine your vision board and clarify your goals? Let me take care of that. Need to relax but can’t afford the luxury you really want to experience? Well…here’s a “freebie” try spaweek.com, you would have known about that last year if I was your coach J.

The mission of Suite Ta Bu, is (IYE) to ignite your evolution. How does an online global e-boutique do that? My thoughts are by inspiring one person at a time, by featuring muses and using our blog as a gathering place for kindred spirits. By crafting a corner of the net where you are among like thinkers who share your values and the drive to manifest their own brand of magic. Where it’s okay to be in pursuit of abs, enlightened millions or world domination in your field!  It’s my hope to start a conversation about change, healing, survival and victory while sharing my own journey with you. Transparency takes courage and if you’ve read this far- you’ve got it!

Three signs you’ve got savoir vivre:

1. You take the risk that comes with being authentic a face the consequences. #no bitterness.

2. Naysayers, haters, fremenies, confused people are simply a part of your life experience but you view them as benchmarks on your journey towards a better you. #gratitude

3. At the end of the day you see life as an adventure and misfortune as lessons to be restyled for the next go ’round. #Every day is an opportunity to do it better

IT WILL BE BETTER THAN ….okay

IT WILL BE BETTER THAN ….okay

I love twitter, I have some great followers and discovered some amazing  kindred minds, today I read  a quote from Soror Iyanla Vanzant that went like this “If holding on is disturbing your peace of mind, it makes sense to let it go.” What should you let go of today? 2010 was a wonderful year , I met my reflection- the odd thing about staring yourself down is that you get to choose whether to wallow or to make every necessary, daily sacrifice to transform into someone more abundant than ever before. The irony is beauty both inner and superficial exterior, does not come without the pain of change and some things have to die, some things have to be accepted (like what are your true core values and who are you really) and others things have to be put in their proper place and fade into the black. Many people get stuck at the “point of release,” unable to make the necessary incremental disciplined adjustments to course correct.  Its painful to let go of things you love, thought you loved, wanted to love, have grown attached to, experiences that at a new stage in your life may not be what’s best for the experience that you ultimately desire. Its easier to blame someone or something for your lack of self-confidence or discipline but at some point you are eventually going to have to address the real reason that you’re holding on to what worked yesterday. Life is odd, some things can be so beautiful in the “now” that you even consider, if only for a moment re-arranging your intended plan to accommodate the current bliss but then you have to choose.

Choose? Yes, I remember a time when getting up at 5:30am was a struggle but 53 pounds lighter, not so much. At some point I, not the peanut gallery, had to choose to love the process of getting fit and now I love getting up early and honoring myself by giving to me, the first fruits of each day! The lesson of the moment is, that things are not always as they seem in the “now,” faith is the belief in the unseen, the rejection of your current reality and the 100% pursuit of your dream by releasing what doesn’t serve you today. Scary right? If it wasn’t everyone would be healthy, spirit filled, compassionate healed sentient beings. The choice to make room for a lifetime of goodness is the beginning of your person evolution! Protecting your process, the things that are important to you and knowing when its time to release can be a slippery slope.

After my morning meditation, which I have missed due to my new schedule, I realized that in the short 33 years of my life, my eyes have been blessed to witness global beauty and rarity on every level, I cannot expect someone whose has chosen a different path or has different experience, belief system and knowledge of reality to understand or partner with me in any capacity on my life adventure, only a true kindred is qualified to do that and anyone else would simply steal the momentum. So, today I release all expectations of other and choose to focus solely on achieving my dream. What a novel concept.

Letting go, is facing fear in action. Letting go of bad eating habits, thoughts that don’t serve you, unhealthy living, and negative energy and hangers on is all a part of moving closer to the new you. I have learned that anything else, any other choice is simply a delay in your progress and the equivalent of hitting rewind on your life but for many, sometimes that’s necessary. Change doesn’t truly happen until you get tired of normal, define YOUR dream and embrace the pain of evolution.

WWJD…Not that, trust me.

WWJD…Not that, trust me.

Okay, so I hope I don’t burn in hell for this but lately I’ve been feeling like I’m living in the twilight zone…I just can’t take anymore whining, deceit, living on rewind, children masquerading as adults, repeat offenders and excuses!

PEOPLE…as grown ups in the free world…. WE ALL HAVE THE POWER OF CHOICE….so, let me start with a few of my 2012 choices….here’s a little background…

*Names have been changed to protect the not so innocent*….lol

Over a pretty swanky New Year’s dinner replete with “a few” too many chocolate covered strawberries and ummm…”a few” glasses of  amaretto sour, I was taking in the lessons of 2011 and trying to learn from my dinner mates how we could transform our realities in 2012. Must be the the company I keep as that’s normal conversation for us but we all noticed the eaves dropping. Finally a grey haired woman leaned over and said, “you all are very unusual for your age.” Story of my life. Is it really unsual to choose excellence, to NOT follow the crowd to be clear about who you are after years of deliberation and honestly earning what you have? Is it really unsual to know that the five people you spend the most time with, are a good gauge as to your potential and the possibiities of your future? Afterall they are your audio diet, advising your every move- aren’t they? Is it unusual to do the best ( I mean… your REAL best)  with your set of circumstances and not turn to a life lived in excess on the edge or to become a leech of others good energy? Maybe… but I don’t associate with people who find that unsual so….. “awareness of what’s unfortunately, acceptably… normal”  was my lesson in 2011.

With that said, here are  five facts for starchildren like me:

Maybe being Fired is good:  A friend of mine, let’s call her “Mangement” was listening to another friend wax on prolific about loosing one of her soulmates to booze and she said something rather profound albeit unfilitered through the veil of moderate intoxication, “Do you really think God’s best for you is a fake christian, non-compassionate drunk with limited vision?” You should be having a praise party right now that all this happened before the increase. Imagine if he had known about….. *dead silence* ….yet another reason I only hang out with people better than me in one area or another, even inebriated- they enlighten you! Bruised hearts aside, when you’re fired, be it from a job or faux girlfriend status it forces you into fight or flight mode. It also paints a clear picture of who you are, as what you do in these moments is the most authentic expression of your true “self” that there is. Being fired presents “a different view from the same floor” as Lil Wayne would say. So, what action could you take to transform your exsistence instead of remaining on ego/victim status for life? Making counter intutive choices feels odd at first but delivers some amazing results. TRUST ME…

Get Real: Sometimes we over simplify other people’s issues because we’ve overcome them. Just becuase you’re built Ford Tough doesn’t mean your neighbor is- at this moment. You can’t expect others to be you or have the same reaction, bounce back time or understanding that you do- even if they have “potential”. YOU CAN EXPECT THAT OF YOUR TEAM but not every one is qualified to be a starter and that’s a choice.  Also, maybe you need to take a moment to fully appreciate your flow, your pacing, your journey, in short… just how amazing you are. We all are in some way or another but how often do we think we’re “normal” or “just regular” only to realize we have over looked and under valued a god given gift? No matter who you are, you’re not common and it took some work to get that way and takes consistent work to remain that way. So, get real about who you are, what you truly desire, surround yourself with believers and take your time discerning the “real” in others.

Who’s Your equal: So, my gift to myself this christmas after getting real about who really deserved gifts in my life, was a personal trainer. I mention this only because so many of us spend time comparing ourselves to others in terms of who we’d like to be equal to or to surpass. WRONG! I’ve always compared myself to myself and a red flag for me is when another person tries to compare “what they know of me” to someone else or starts trying to compete where there is no need for even healthy competition. Those types of actions, usually mean the person in question has low self esteem, is intimidated by your “now” and is looking to make you feel small- in short they are not on your team or your equal. So, who is? You balanced are your equal! The you on your vision board, the you you’re tyring to catch up to, the disciplined you or as I like to call her Buddha baby a.ka. Me.Zen Beta

Enlarge the dream: While watching the Mattrix Reloaded (2003) for the 500th time, I realized that everytime Neo thought he had a handle on the situation, the challenge and the dream of ZION was enlarged. I also realized that one of my favorite characters, the Merovingian who appeared to have it all together was really someone who had settled on a certain life experience- c’est la vie! What would happen ion your own life if you decided not to settle, adjusted your atmospehre accordingly and counter intuitively enlarged your dream every time a new challenge presented itself? I believe magic would happen…real life certified magic= the cultivation of SVA for us yogis

Just do it!: As a christian yogini, I love Proverbs 4:4-5 and struggle with it constantly. Its so easy to be smart, to appear a certain way but our lifestyles, which very few get to examine up close are really the proving ground for illustrating what, if anything- we in fact understand. God says it best “Then he taught me, and he said to me, take hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands, and you will live. 5 Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them.” Another lesson of 2011 is that everything is not often as it appears, so make sure after all your plans are made that you take action based on an understanding of the holisitic experience you desire. Life is simple, just do what you can each day but you must take action, talking, complaining, making excuses, belittling another is not action only the hard work of confronting your fears is action. Simple enough…right?

P.S. All this can be accomplished with a little RSL- what’s that? Check out the pic
